Volunteer governance opportunities

Governance Institute is pleased to offer a complimentary web listing service for Not-for-Profit organisations requiring assistance in their governance practices. Many NFP organisations would benefit from help from qualified Governance Institute members and we encourage members to offer their support.

NFP organisations currently requiring assistance:

Earthworker Co-operative Ltd, based in Victoria, is seeking a corporate governance professional who possesses high-level risk assessment skills to join our advisory committee — formed to assist the establishment of a new housing co-operative. The project focuses on addressing the high level of community need for secure housing and aims to improve energy and resource efficiency. The Australian Dental Health Foundation (ADHF) is seeking to recruit and appoint suitably experienced and skilled people to be part of its Advisory Board. If you have the experience and motivation and time to commit to the Foundation, we would love to hear from you. All positions are voluntary. All Board members should have the skills and ability to contribute to the strategic direction of the Foundation with experience in philanthropy. The Children’s Tumour Foundation of Australia based in Sydney, NSW is seeking a volunteer company secretary to assist with Board and Audit & Risk Committee meetings, board minutes and regulatory compliance. Your commitment will include 6 board meetings and 6 Committee Meetings currently held virtually. Good exposure to professional board and contribution to a charity. Scale Investors is a national not for profit angel investment group based in Melbourne, Victoria. In order to address the dearth of capital available to female entrepreneurs, we activate early stage capital for cutting edge Australian innovation companies being led by exceptional female founders and gender diverse teams. We have an experienced board of business leaders whose passion for our mission motive them to volunteer their time, generally meeting for 3 hours approximately 8 times per year during business hours. We are seeking a volunteer company secretary to assist with governance, including agenda creation, attending all board meetings, taking and distributing minutes. Board meetings are held in person in Melbourne and via Zoom.
