Most Australian companies can expect to pay between $4.00 and $396,000 for the privilege of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission’s regulatory services in the current financial year, depending on their size.
In line with its new industry funding model, which took effect on 1 July 2017, the corporate watchdog has released a report estimating how the $237.6 million in costs it expects to incur in regulatory services in 2017–18 will be allocated among the different entities it regulates.
The new model aims to allow ASIC to better focus its resources on the sectors that are creating the need for most regulation.
